Alcohol Meter 0–100% (ABV) Hydrometer for Alcohol Testing

An alcohol meter (0–100% ABV) is a laboratory-grade hydrometer used for the accurate determination of alcohol concentration by volume in distilled, sugar-free solutions. It is calibrated on a 0–100% ABV scale and operates based on liquid density measurement. This instrument is commonly used in laboratories, quality control, and industrial testing of ethanol-based samples. It is not suitable for beer, wine, or other sugar-containing solutions, as dissolved solids interfere with accurate readings.

Description

How it works

You float it in a measuring cylinder filled with the spirit sample, and the liquid level on the scale shows the alcohol percentage. A 250 ml cylinder is commonly recommended because shorter cylinders can be too small for proper use.

Important note

These meters are typically calibrated for a specific temperature, such as 15°C or 20°C, so temperature affects accuracy. Some models include a thermometer, while others require an external temperature correction chart.
